What is an equation in point-slope form of the line that passes through (1, -6) and (4, 6)?
Nadya [2.5K]

Answer:

See below.

Step-by-step explanation:

The point=slope form is: y-y_{1}=m(x-x_{1}), where m is the slope.

First, find the slope using to two given points.

m=\frac{\Delta y}{\Delta x} =\frac{6-(-6)}{4-1} =\frac{12}{3}=4

We can now plug in the numbers. You can pick any of the two points to use.

Version 1:

y-(-6)=4(x-(1))

y+6=4(x-1)

Version 2:

y-(6)=4(x-4)

y-6=4(x-4)

If desired, you can simplify this further.

I need to know X for 8 and 10 if u feel like it. PLS
inn [45]

Answer:

8) <em>x</em>=9

10) 23 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

8) vertical angles are congruent to each other so we can set the expressions as such and solve:

<u>7x</u> + 3 = <u>10x</u> - 24

<u>3</u> = 3x<u> - 24</u>

<u>27</u> = <u>3x</u>

9 = x

10) since the angles are complementary they equal 90 degrees, so we can set the expression like this and solve for <em>x</em>:

<u>12x</u> + 7 + <u>6x</u> - 7 = 90

18x <u>+ 7 - 7</u> = 90

<u>18x</u> = <u>90</u>

x = 5

now we plug it back into the expression equivalent to the measure of angle O:

<u>6(5)</u> -7

<u>30 - 7</u>

23 degrees
