Answer:

D

Explanation:

The space was a well-constructed thrust stage however, the stage was not raised off the ground and the seats appeared to be mobile which lead to the belief that this is an Environmental Theater. As for the layout of the stage, there was a couch and a table in center stage for the first two acts, a door to the unseen outside front of the house upstage right, there were two large double doors upstage center leading to the backyard garden, and a raised floor upstage left containing a piano, a bookcase and a door leading to the home library. Stage left there was a half spiral staircase that lead up to the second floor which had a painting and lights that extended across to stage right. The second floor also contained the bedrooms for the house but the doors were not in sight. The detail was greater than expected: the hardwood floor throughout the first floor seemed to be genuine, the actual bookcase filled with real books not stage books, and the extremely large double doors with translucent glass and floral designs lead to the Garden, which featured an array of plants behind the doors. The entire space was well lit for the duration of the play; the stage took place inside the Bliss’ home so the bright lighting added a confortable feel to the inside of the house. The theatre was nearly sold out; it was hard to spot an empty seat, including the balcony and lower level seating. The crowd contained nearly an even amount of student audience members and senior citizens; there was few in the audience that appeared middle aged.

"Trade has some relation to forms of government. In a monarchy, it is generally founded on luxury; and though it be also founded
eduard

Answer:

The statement is describing the usual difference in trade policy that exists between monarchies and republics.

Explanation:

The excerpt comes from the Spirit of the Laws, by Montesquieu, who was a French philosopher who promoted republicanism and liberalism.

In the text, Montesqueiu is explaining than in monarchies, trade is very restricted, and is usually only allowed for luxury goods like perfums, spices, or silk clothes, because these goods are used by the nobility as a symbol of their power and status.

In monarchies, for the rest of the population, trade is restricted. The common people therefore cannot access goods from abroad, or can only do so at a very high cost.

In republics, Montesquieu says, trade tends to be more open. Merchants become the ones who do most of the trade, guided by their economic ideas. The merchants therefore obtain many goods from abroad, that both the nobility and the commoner can acquire for a lower price.

In conclusion, Montesquieu is using the argument for trade as another reason to support republics over monarchies.

Write a letter as if you are Adam Smith to Karl Marx, or Karl Marx to Adam Smith. Explain your ideas on economics (capitalism vs
user100 [1]

Answer:

I am Adam Smith

Explanation:

Dear Karl Marx

I write to you to explain, respectfully, why your economic theories are wrong.

First of all, capitalism is not doomed to fail as you say. Capitalism is the best economic system we have developed so far. Capitalism allows the free movement of goods and services, and the accumulation of capital, which leads to economic growth, and the subsequent rise in the standards of living. You yourself recognize this fact.

Secondly, capitalism is not fundamentally unfair. It is true that entrepreneurs tend to earn more than workers, but this is because they risk more than them: they risk their capital and savings, and if the business fails, they could find themselves ruined and in debt.

Finally, I do understand that there are flaws with the system, and I support intelligent intervention to solve these flaws. But it is not socialism nor communism what will solve those flaws.

Sincelery, Adam Smith.
