  • The distance travelled by both Evelyn and Ricky is 45 miles

If Speed = dist/time, then;

<u>dist = speed * time</u>

<u />

We also know that both of them travel the same distance, so we equate the distance travelled to each other

36 * x+45 = 72 * x

36x + 1620 = 72x

72x - 36x = 1620

36x = 1620

x = 1620/36

<u>x = 45 miles</u>

<u />

How to solve (8x-30)+(6x+10)=180
lozanna [386]
Add the like terms. So I'll add the variables. 8x+6x is 14x. Now add whole numbers. 30+10 is 40. Our new expression we'll be 14x+40=180. Subtract 40 from 180. 180-40=140. Now we have the expression 14x=140. 140 divided by 14 is 10. So x is 10.

Pleeeeeeeeaaaseeeeee help meeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!
zaharov [31]

Answer:

Option D.

A =96\pi\ cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of the circular bases is:

A_c = 2\pi(a) ^ 2

Where

a=4\ cm is the radius of the circle

Then

A = 2\pi(4) ^ 2

A = 32\pi\ cm^2

The area of the rectangle is:

A_r=b * 2\pi r

Where

b=8\ cm

b is the width of the rectangle and 2\pi r is the length

Then the area of the rectangle is:

A_r=8 * 2\pi (4)

A_r=64\pi\ cm^2

Finally the total area is:

A = A_c + A_r\\\\A = 32\pi\ cm^2 + 64\pi\ cm^2\\\\

A =96\pi\ cm^2

if a motercycle is moving at a constant speed down the highway of 40 km/hr, how long would it the motorcycle to travel 10 km
ahrayia [7]

Answer:

15 minutes

Step-by-step explanation:

First, the motorcycle goes at a speed of 40 km/hr.

The question asks for how long it would take to travel 10 km.

Well, there are 60 minutes in an hour, since we will be translating into minutes.

Also, 10 km is 1/4 of 40 km, so it would make sense that the time length would be 1/4 of an hour as well.

1/4 of 60 minutes is 15 minutes.  So it takes 15 minutes for the motorcycle to travel 10 km.

Now, if all this wordy stuff is too much to comprehend, you can also solve using proportional relationships.

\frac{40km}{60min}=\frac{10km}{xmin}

Now cross multiply:

40km*xmin=10km*60min\\40x=600

Divide both sides by 40:

\frac{40x}{40}=\frac{600}{40}\\x=15

Again, this shows that it wouls take 15 minutes for the motorcycle to travel 10 km.
