I'm naming the left shape shape A and the right one shape B to make things easier to understand:

If these are the same shapes we can assume that Shape A was reduced by a factor of 2.5 to form Shape B (10/4=2.5).

With this number we can solve for x by multiplying 5 by 2.5 since we are enlarging Shape B to create Shape A. 5*2.5 is 12.5 so x=12.5.

For the two other missing sides I did the same step except dividing instead because we are going from big to small.

Top side: 8/2.5= 3.2

Right side: 10/2.5= 4

The answer is 25 which is by multiplying 4/10 and 5/x and the devide by 4

The one men is rate is 84 hours to do the job

We can express this as 1/84 jobs per hour, the one-person rate

Now lets find how many men needed to paint the room in 3 hours

Let the required number of men for 3 hours be "a"

The rates of each person is simply additive.

a \times \frac{1}{84} \times 3 = 1

corresponds to rate x hours = jobs and "a" is a variable for how many men

a \times \frac{1}{28} = 28

Thus 28 men are needed to paint the room in 3 hours

∴ The bracket is (x - 2)²

∵  (x - 2)² = (x² - 4x + 4)

∴ To complete the square add 4 to the bracket and subtract 4 out  

  the bracket to keep the equation as it

∴ (x² - 4x + 4) - 4 = (x - 2)² - 4

- Lets put the equation after making the completing square

∴ y = 1/8 [(x - 2)² - 4 - 12]

∴ y = 1/8 [(x - 2)² - 16] ⇒ multiply both sides by 8

∴ 8y = (x - 2)² - 16 ⇒ add 16 to both sides

∴ 8y + 16 = (x - 2)² ⇒ take from the left side 8 as a common factor

∴ 8(y + 2) = (x - 2)²

∴ The standard form of the equation of the parabola is

   (x - 2)² = 8(y + 2)

∵ The standard form of the equation is (x - h)² = 4p(y - k)

∴ h = 2 , k = -2 , 4p = 8

∵ The focus is (h , k + p)

∵ h = 2

∵ 4p = 8 ⇒ divide both sides by 4

∴ p = 2

∴ The focus = (2 , -2 + 2) = (2 , 0)

* The focus point is (2 , 0)
