in the great depression you had people who were thrown out of their homes and they had no chance of ever getting back on their feet. they were selling their kids and selling family heirlooms just  to be able to survive and buy food. in this modern recession you have higher gas prices and you have higher prices and unemployment rates. this isn't as band as the last one but if it keeps going at the rate its going we may or may not end up in the same predicament sorry if this doesn't help
