Katie bought a cooler that measures 1 1.5 feet by 1foot by 1 1.20 feet. What is the volume of the cooler?
ioda
1. You can solve this problem and calculate the volume of the cooler, by following the proccedure below:

 2. You have that the cooler measures <span>1 1/2 feet by 1 foot by 1 1/5 feet; then, you only have to multiply these values. Then, you have:

 1 1/2 feet=1.5 feet
 1 1/5 feet=1.2 feet

 Volume of the cooler=(1.5 feet)(1 foot)(1.2 feet)
 Volume of the cooler=1.8 feet</span>³
<span>
 What is the volume of the cooler?

 The answer is: T</span>he volume of the cooler is 1.8 feet<span>³</span><span>

chef ollie has a community garden.she uses 2/6 of the farmland to grow beets and 1/6 of the farmland to grow kale. how much of t
Lorico [155]

Answer:

1/2 of farm land left.

Step-by-step explanation:

  Ok so we know that Chef Ollie has a community garden. And that she uses \frac{2}{6} of the farmland to grow beets. The denominator 6 lets you know immediately that the land is divided into equal 6 pieces. We also know that Chef Ollie uses another \frac{1}{6} of the farmland to grow kale.

  Because the we need to find out how much land Chef Ollie has left, we need to subtract the amount she used from the whole. Before we can do that we must add up the total amount of used land, and since the denominators are the same we can directly add and subtract with having to change the denominator.

Step 1: Write down important numbers.

\frac{2}{6}, \frac{1}{6},

Step 2: Add those numbers together.

\frac{2}{6} + \frac{1}{6} = \frac{3}{6} or \frac{1}{2}

Step 3: Write an expression/equation.

\frac{6}{6} - \frac{3}{6} \\or\\1 - \frac{1}{2}

Step 4: Solve

=    \frac{3}{6}\\or\\\frac{1}{2}

(can be written both ways)

  And you get your answer: After Chef Ollie has used \frac{2}{6} to grow beets and \frac{1}{6} to grow kale, she has \frac{1}{2} of her farmland left untouched.

  To represent this you could draw a circle divided in 6 pieces and shade 3 of them, or simply draw a circle and shade half. As well as drawing a rectangle and dividing it into 6 pieces, shading 3, or draw a rectangle, and shade half.

You are welcome ;) .

What is the vertical shift for the absolute value function below. Explain how you know using complete sentences. Include the dir
koban [17]

The vertical shift of the function f(x) = 9|x + 1| + 2 is 2 units up

The absolute function is given as:

f(x) = 9|x + 1| + 2

An absolute function is represented as:

f(x) = a|x - h| + k

Where k represents the vertical shift.

By comparison, the value of k is:

k = 2

This means that the vertical shift is 2 units

Hence, the vertical shift of the function f(x) = 9|x + 1| + 2 is 2 units up

In April, Phillipa rode 13 . 5 + 8 . 7 + 11 . 1 miles on her bicycle. In March, she rode ( 13 . 5 + 8 . 7 + 11 . 1 ) ÷ 2 miles,
bonufazy [111]

Answer:

Phillipa rode the most in May and rode the least in March.

Distance travelled by Phillipa on her cycle in May = 8 × Distance travelled by Phillipa on her cycle in March

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

In April, Phillipa rode 13 . 5 + 8 . 7 + 11 . 1 miles on her bicycle. In March, she rode ( 13 . 5 + 8 . 7 + 11 . 1 ) ÷ 2 miles, and in May, she rode 4 × ( 13 . 5 + 8 . 7 + 11 . 1 ) miles.

To find: the month when she rode the most and the month when she rode the least

Solution:

Distance travelled by Phillipa on her cycle in April = 13 . 5 + 8 . 7 + 11 . 1 = 65 + 56 + 11 = 132 miles

Distance travelled by Phillipa on her cycle in March = ( 13 . 5 + 8 . 7 + 11 . 1 ) ÷ 2 = \frac{132}{2}=66 miles

Distance travelled by Phillipa on her cycle in May = 4 × ( 13 . 5 + 8 . 7 + 11 . 1 ) = 4 × 132 = 528 miles

So, she rode the most in May and rode the least in March

Distance travelled by Phillipa on her cycle in May = 8 × Distance travelled by Phillipa on her cycle in March
