Anti-Federalists chose to ratify the Constitution largely because of the promise of a bill of individual rights. However, they s

till feared that a federal system would become too powerful. Did the federal government grow too powerful under the Washington and Adams administrations? The Federalists Managed to avoid the Anti- Federalists because they were two different groups. The Federalists were with the ratification but the Anti-Federalists were against the ratification which let to the colonies.

The US wanted this strip of land to complete the southern branch of the Transcontinental Railroad.
