Answer:

X=2.5 min

Y=262.5 m

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the time ( in minutes ) Sam will take to catch Leo .

We know that : Distance = Speed x Time

Speed of Leo = 65 meters per minute

Speed of Sam = 105 meters per minute

According to the given situation, we have

Distance covered by Leo = (100 +65 x ) meters

Distance covered by Sam = 105 x meters

Sam will catch Leo when distance covered by Leo would be equal to  distance covered by Sam.

 [ Subtract 65 x from both sides ]

x=2.5    [Divide both sides by 40]

therefore Sam will catch up Leo after 2.5 minutes.

The difference of the quotient m and 9 and the quotient of n and 30
Zanzabum
Answer: (30m-9n)/270

First we start with m/9-n/30.

We multiply the denominators to get 270.

Then we multiply the numerators by the original denominators to get (30m-9n).

To check, we can use m=2, and n=4

2/9-4/30=4/45

(30*2-9*4)/270=24/270=4/45
