John Gower is an English poet, He is remembered primarily for three major works, the Mirour de l'Omme, Vox Clamantis, and Confessio Amantis, three long poems written in French, Latin, and English respectively, which are united by common moral and political themes. Geoffrey Chaucer respected and admired Gower and his work so much that he gave him a medieval version of a modern day shout out in his poem Troilus and Criseyde, which he dedicated in part to 'moral Gower. ' Details about Gower's life are a bit murky.

What novel insight did Mencius bring to Confucius’ thought?
Yakvenalex [24]

Answer:

The correct answer is option C) Human nature is essentially and innately good.

Explanation:

Confucianism is an ethical philosophical concept rather than a religious one. It focuses on the innate ability of human nature to be good.

A well known Confucianism philosopher, Menicus, was the one who brought this theory forward. He thinks that human nature is intact, unless an external force tries to break it down.

He further had the view that if this innate ability of goodness is worked upon, it can be turned into a virtue.
