A public organization is one which focus on services to the public including public authority, state agency etc

A non-profit organization is one which focuses on a social cause (like religion, research, education) and not driven by profit.

  • In comparison, both the public and non-profit organisations uses the strategic plan to establish goals as well as to review operations.

  • In contrast, the strategic planning in public and non-profit organisations is different because public organization is guided by government directives whereas the non-profit organization is guided by their mission and purpose.
