According to Nnaemeka, he wish to wait until he is home on leave to tell his father about his engagement to Nene because "It is tradition in his village that the father bless the marriage, and Nnaemeka wants his father to meet Nene first".

Tradition:

This is a part of culture that is passed from person to person or generation to generation, differing in detail from family to family, such as the way to celebrate weddings.

In most African cultures, it is tradition for intending couples to receive blessings from parents and elders in the family before they become husband and wife.

emmainna [20.7K]
In his book Walden, a reflection on the act of living as simply as possible, Thoreau spoke at length on the impact of technology on our daily lives and humanity as a whole. He believed that technology was leading to a degradation of our relations with one another and with the natural world. He cited the construction of a telegraph line from Maine to Texas, saying,"We are in great haste to construct a magnetic telegraph line from Maine to Texas; but Maine and Texas, it may be, have nothing important to communicate." We can see them same in our modern day quest for the "next big thing"; snapping up the latest iPhone for hundreds of dollars, posting ever more on social media, with many having nothing important to contribute to a wider world despite access to that world at an unprecedented level. As a society, we have at our fingertips the lessons and work of all the world's great thinkers and scholars, and yet a great number of people use the potential at hand to watch funny cat videos. I believe that this is a sign of the degradation that Thoreau spoke of made manifest.

Write a story about a teacher that can read minds (1-2 pages)
inna [77]

Ill give you a paragraph to give you ideas so you dont get busted for plagiarism

It was a tuesday and I was in Detention. My teacher thought I was Talking trash about her but I haven't even opened my mouth. It turns out she can read minds. Let me tell you how I found out. I was sitting in her math class waiting for it to start when she called my best friend up to the front of the class and told her off for not turning in her homework on time! Her dad died yesterday and her mom even sent her an email so to myself i thought wow what a witch! Shes mourning the loss of her father! That is when she told me to stay after class.

Hopefully this can give you ideas let me know if you need more!
