Please list and discuss the rights of the defendant once he/she is arrested and follow the defendant and his/her rights all the
way to sentencing. You will need to think about the components of the Justice System and what events happen, such as at a preliminary hearing, or at sentencing. There will be three separate amendments that apply. NOTE: Irrelevant "answers" will be reported.
Answer: The Sixth Amendment guarantees the rights of criminal defendants, including the right to a public trial without unnecessary delay, the right to a lawyer, the right to an impartial jury, and the right to know who your accusers are and the nature of the charges and evidence against you.
