Answer:

12.649

<u>Skills needed: Trigonometry</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

1) We need to use one of the fundamentals of trigonometry, which is:

Soh Cah Toa

---> Soh = sin(\angle x) = \frac{opposite}{hypotenuse} (sin(\angle x) equals the side <u><em>O</em></u>pposite of it divided by the <u><em>H</em></u>ypotenuse -- sin is short for sine (pronounced as sign)

Soh = Sine Opposite Hypotenuse

---> Cah = cos(\angle x) = \frac{adjacent}{hypotenuse} (cos(\angle x) equals the side adjacent (not the hypotenuse) to the angle divided by the hypotenuse -- cos is short for cosine (pronounced as co-sign)

Cah = Cosine Adjacent Hypotenuse

---> Tan = tan(\angle x) = \frac{opposite}{adjacent} (tan(\angle x) equals the side opposite of it divided by the side (not hypotenuse) adjacent to it -- tan is short for tangent

Tan = Tangent Opposite Adjacent

2) In this case, we are solving for adjacent:

This is because \overline{BC} is next to \angle \theta and \overline{BC} is not the hypotenuse (\overline{AC} is the hypotenuse as it is opposite the right angle)

<em>---> We are given </em><em>opposite </em><em>as side </em>x is opposite \angle \theta

3) Let's plug it in:

\tan \angle x = \frac{opposite}{adjacent}

\angle \theta = 31, adjacent = 7.6, opposite = \overline{BC}

\tan 31 = \frac{7.6}{\overline{BC}} --> Here, we should multiply both sides by \overline{BC}

\overline{BC} * \tan 31 = 7.6 --> To get \overline{BC} by itself, divide both sides by \tan 31

\overline{BC} = \frac{7.6}{tan 31}

You have to plug this into the calculator as you cannot mentally solve trig functions.

---> Plugging it into calc:\overline{BC} = \frac{7.6}{\tan 31} = 12.6485 \text{ rounded to the ten-thousandths place}

12.6485 is rounded to the ten-thousandths, but the problem asks for 3 SF, so that would be 12.649 (rounded that 85 to 9 (or 90))

Yo sup??

The given points are (1,1),(1,3) and (9,2)

equation of circle is

8x²+8y²+ax+by=0

let us plug in (1,1) in the equation we get

8+8+a+b=0

a+b=-16

let us now plug in (1,3) in the equation

8+8*3²+a+3b=0

a+3b=-80

let us. now solve the two equation in terms of a and b

we get

2b=--64

b=-32

and

a=-16+32

=16

therefore the equation is

8x²+8y²+16x-32y=0

Hope this helps

How do I begin this equation
alex41 [277]
Trigonometry:
We know that   csc x = 1 / sin x    and π = 180°;
sin 5π/ 6 = sin 150° = 1/2
csc 2π / 3 = 1 / sin 120° = 1 / √3/2 = 2 / √3
Finally:
4 · 1/2 + 7 · ( 2 / √3 )² = 2 + 7 · 4/3 =
= 2 + 28/3 = 2 + 9 1/3 =  11  1/3

Two storage sheds are to have the same area. One is square and one is rectangular. The rectangular shed is 4 meters wide and 9 m
aliina [53]
Area is calculated by taking the length times the width.
A=lxw

one shed is 9 x 4 =36 square feet.
the other shed will be the same but have a four sides equal.
a shed with side of 6 x 6 will have a area of 36 square feet.

one side of the square shed would be 6 feet.
