  • The Declaration of the Mexican-American War by James K Polk.

The historical context of the second document is:

  • The text written by an American about the need to avoid war with Mexico because of intentional and constant provocations by the American Army and actions.

This refers to the things which occurred at the particular time when a document or an event happened in history.

With this in mind, we can see that the first document had to do with the declaration of the Mexican and American War which were caused by peculiar things.
