Talja [164]

Answer:

13 and 27

Step-by-step explanation:

y= x+14

x+y=40

x+ x+14=40

2x+14=40

40-14=26

so, 2x=26

26/2

=13

so, x=13 and

and y equal 40-13

y=27

Which expression is equivalent
RUDIKE [14]

Given expression is

\sqrt[4]{\frac{16x^{11}y^8}{81x^7y^6}}

Radical is fourth root

first we simplify the terms inside the radical

\frac{x^{11}}{x^7}=x^4

\frac{y^(8)}{y^6}=y^2

So the expression becomes

\sqrt[4]{\frac{16x^4y^2}{81}}

Now we take fourth root

\sqrt[4]{16} = 2

\sqrt[4]{81} = 3

\sqrt[4]{x^4} = x

We cannot simplify fourth root (y^2)

After simplification , expression becomes

\frac{2x\sqrt[4]{y^2}}{3}

Answer is option B

Find the area of the triangle below. Show as much work as possible. Label your answer appropriately.
Dmitry [639]

Answer:

Area=\frac{5}{12}x^2

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of a triangle is given by:

Area=\frac{1}{2}*base*height

From the diagram base=\frac{5}{6}x,and,height=x

We substitute into the formula to get:

Area=\frac{1}{2}*\frac{5}{6}x*x

This implies that:

Area=\frac{5}{12}x^2
