B. Use the strongest and most popular counterargument, and then go on to explain why it is less valid / less important than your argument. You should always address the counterargument (don't just pretend it doesn't exists because it always does. This makes it clear you have considered both sides of the argument when forming an opinion, which makes it more difficult for people to disagree with you).

In a debate, counterargument is made to give a rebuttal to the statement made by the opposition in order to win the audience.

Which mean that we can either use the strongest counterargument (to make the frame of the opposition's argument crumble) , or the most popular (because audiences tend to relate easier to popular argument)

The enduring understanding that both societies share is that there must be a fighting in order for a breakthrough to be achieved. They diverged when one fought in a peaceful way and the other fought in a violent way.
