Answer:

1. All the verses fit together, because they all keep the theme and thoughts about what it is like to be a "señorita". 2. There are clear transitions between stanzas, which are presented by the thoughts of different family members on a given topic. I would fragment the text by exposing the theme of each stanza in one sentence.

2.My mother said that my life would change when I turned 15, because I would become a señorita. For my friends, being a señorita is wearing lipstick, but I don't like it.

3. For Mami to be señorita is to wear high-heeled shoes, but I think that is dangerous. For my aunts to be señorita is to wear tailored flowery clothes and pantyhose, but I find it ugly and uncomfortable.

At the end of the fourth paragraph ("And below the surface... scour marks"), the author strategically arranges sentences in a wa
bagirrra123 [75]

Answer: E. Emphasizes the mounting evidence for the complexity of the ocean’s currents

Explanation:

The author begins these sentences with “And below” to claim that beneath the surface currents there are other distinct currents with different speeds, directions, and volumes. By repeating “And below” at the beginning of the next sentence, the author suggests that there are yet other currents beneath these. The author’s arrangement of these sentences therefore suggests that the layers of distinct ocean currents are potentially endless. After making this suggestion, the author then includes the fact that there is photographic evidence supporting the idea that there are currents on the sea bottom, which had once been thought to be still. By arranging the sentences in this manner, the author affirms her claim regarding the unending complexity of the ocean’s current by revealing that there is already proof to support the claim.

Narrative writing about a windy day
irga5000 [103]

Answer:

Up above, there is a sky so blue, that one colour cannot describe it. Below, tree stumps rise, the branches reaching out and feeling the wind with their leaves. The leaves are full of warm reds, yellows, and oranges underneath the blue sky, hoping to reach out and away to explore with the other leaves. But when they away, the rush of wind only lasts for seconds and they drop on the cold wet ground. And when they drop on the ground, they want the wind to blow them back onto their branch. But when the wind obeys and picks them up, they only fall further away from the tree, down a hill and onto a girl and a dog that lies close to her. A big yellow school bus rumbles up to the curb and with a rusty swoosh, the doors rush open, and There was a bunch of voices, and Farrah and Belle got on the bus and jumped on the steps behind them. They retreated to the last seat. The kids on the bus seemed a little stronger, a little louder and, a little bigger. She plugged her earphones into her phone to drown them out. The bus ride was long and labyrinthine with streets that formed hexagons and circles, spinning them in endless circles.
