A random sample of respondents would be distributed randomly, half to the experimental group and half to the control group. A pr

etest questionnaire would be administered to the respondents in both groups to obtain a measurement on attitudes toward Pepsi advertising, brand, and celebrity; only the respondents in the experimental group would be exposed to the TV program containing the Pepsi commercial. Then, a questionnaire would be administered to respondents in both groups to obtain posttest measures on attitudes toward Pepsi advertising, brand, and celebrity. Which of the following experimental design best represents the above scenario?
a. one-shot case study
b. one-group pretest-posttest design
c. after-only with control group design
d. before and after with control group design
e. interrupted time-series design

The experimental design which best represents the above random survey is: B. one-group pretest-posttest design.

An experimental design can be defined as a research method (concept) in which a controlled experimental factor is objectively and efficiently subjected to a special treatment (intervention), in order to compare it with a factor (controlled variable) that is kept constant. Thus, it is used to maximize precision in an experiment and to reach a specific conclusion on a hypothesis statement.

Basically, there are three (3) main types of experimental design and these include:

1. Quasi-experimental research design

2. True experimental research design

3. Pre-experimental research design

Under the pre-experimental research design, we have three (3) forms of experimental design and these are:

 • One-shot case study research design
 • Static-group comparison
 • One-group pretest-posttest design

One-group pretest-posttest research design is mostly used by behavioral researchers to determine the effect of a special treatment (intervention) on a given sample of participants, especially by first utilizing a single group of participants (one-group design) before the treatment is implemented and once after the treatment is implemented.

In conclusion, a one-group pretest-posttest research design is the experimental design which best represents the above random survey.

The following errors took place in journalizing and posting transactions:
yuradex [85]

Answer:

Journal 1

Debit : Prepaid Expense $37,600

Credit : Cash $18,800

Credit : Insurance Expense $18,800

Journal 2

Debit : Dividends $18,000

Credit : Wages $18,000

Explanation:

Journal 1

The first error has to be corrected by debiting the Prepaid Expenses by twice the amount paid to cancel the effect of a credit entry made to that account. Cash is credited to show the correct credit entry that was supposed to be made. Insurance expense is credited to cancel the debit entry made to this account in error.

Journal 2

The error made is called error of principle. This is were the transaction is recorded in the wrong class of accounts. Simply, Debit the Dividends and credit the Wages Account to record and reverse the error out of the Wages Account into the Dividends Account.

Hale Company sells merchandise on account for $1,000 to Long Company with credit terms of 2/10, n/30. Long Company returns $200
Vladimir79 [104]

Answer:

Amount of Check = $784

so correct option is a. $784

Explanation:

given data

Merchandise on account = $1,000

Long Company returns = $200

credit terms = 2/10

n/30

to find out

What is the amount of the check

solution

we know here that Total Merchandise will be

Total Merchandise = Merchandise on account - returns ....................1

Total Merchandise = $1000 - $200

Total Merchandise = $800

and

discount will be here

Discount = 0.02 × 800

returns = $16

so

Amount of Check will be as

Amount of Check = Total Merchandise - Discount ...................2

put here value

Amount of Check = Total Merchandise - Discount

Amount of Check = $800 - $16

Amount of Check = $784

so correct option is a. $784

Identify which of the factors below are better short-range predictors and which are better long-range predictors of movements in
alina1380 [7]

Answer:

Short range predictors:

c. Nominal interest rate differential

d. Psychological effects

e. Investor expectations

f. Bandwagon effect

Long range predictors:

a. Relative monetary growth

b. Relative inflation rates

Explanation:

Nominal rate, the real rate, and inflation. long term predictors of an economic theory in which a relationship between inflation, nominal interest rate and real interest rate is identified. It defines that real interest rate is equal to inflation minus nominal interest rate.

Bandwagon effect is a short range predictor because it is effect of uptake when people follow others. They take decisions what other do and its their belief that other people have taken the right decision so we too. This is just a short term hop based on beliefs regardless of any underlying evidence.
