The conflict which is introduced in the given excerpt is:

  • An internal conflict because Justin is undecided about how the other kids are going to decide who got the bikes.

Based on the given excerpt, we can see that the narrator talks about the scene where Justin was going home with some bikes and while his mother misinterpreted his silence for satisfaction, he was actually lost in thought because of an internal conflict.

With this in mind, we can see that the internal conflict which Justin had was that he did not know what would happen to the bikes once they are <em>wheeled into the garage</em> and the kids decide who got the bikes.
