Answer:

The Answer The important function of the cell cycle is that a cell can accurately duplicate the huge amount of DNA and segregation of the same duplicated DNA into two formed daughter cells. The duplication of DNA takes place in S-phase whereas cell division after M-phase during Cytokinesis

The cell cycle is the replication and reproduction of cells, whether in eukaryotes or prokaryotes.

It is important to organisms in different ways, but overall it allows them to survive.

For prokaryotes, the cell cycle, called Binary Fission, allows for them to live on by dividing into two new daughter cells.

For eukaryotes, consider an animal such as a cat, if a cat were to have a severe injury, it would need the cell cycle to replicate cells to replace those that were damaged in the injury and hence needs the cell cycle to heal itself.

Zygotes also depend on the cell cycle to form its many cells in order to produce a baby organism at the end of its process.

Plants require the cell cycle to grow and provide life for every other organism on earth. and therefore the cell cycle is highly important to organisms as if it were not present or if it were to stop suddenly, life would completely end.

In short, the cell cycle allows organisms to survive.

I really hoped this helped you understand cell cycles! Have a good day :)

We know prior work that the raptors have 6 chromosomes in their body cells. This means that their egg and sperm have _____ chrom
77julia77 [94]

Three chromosomes each.

Explanation:

 • Egg and sperm are gametes.
 • Gametes are produced by meiosis, the cell division that reduces the chromosome number to Half.
 • The Gametes need to be Haploid so that the Chromosome number of the species is maintained. Otherwise the Chromosome number would have doubled in each progeny.
 • Thus, clearly we can conclude that the eggs and sperms of raptors have three chromosomes each.

Consider this microscopic image of bacteria. mc005-1.jpg Which bacterial shape is shown in the image?
e-lub [12.9K]

The right answer is spiral.

Size and shape vary from one bacterium to another. The majority of bacteria have a size between 0.5-5 μm in diameter.

Most bacteria are either spherical or rod-shaped. In the first case they are called cocci (of the Greek kókkos, grain) and in the second bacilli (of Latin baculus, rod). There are also intermediate forms: coccobacilli. Some rod-shaped bacteria are slightly curved like vibrio. Other bacteria are helicoidal. They are spiral if the form is invariable and rigid, spirochaetes if the body is flexible and can change shape.

When comparing proteins and polysaccharides, the following similarities
lianna [129]

Answer:

The comparison of proteins and polysaccharides establishes that they have similarity in both consist of linked monomers via the process dehydration reactions.

Explanation:

Both proteins and polysaccharides are polymers whose structure consists of the union of monomers. In the case of proteins the monomer is the amino acid, while in the polysaccharides can be glucose molecules.

The process of polymer formation is called polymerization, and one of the reactions that this process allows is polycondensation, where a water molecule is lost in the union of monomers.

The loss of water in a chemical reaction involves dehydration, a characteristic shared by the processes of adding monomers to proteins and polysaccharides.

The other options are not correct, because

 • Hydrolysis produces the rupture of molecules, with the intervention of water.
 • Only polysaccharides are sugars bound by the dehydration synthesis process.
 • Only proteins consist of amino acids linked through the process of hydrolysis.

Oxygen is very electronegative and therefore is a strong reducing agent
Roman55 [17]

The oxygen atoms undergo reduction, formally gaining electrons, while the carbon atoms undergo oxidation, losing electrons. Thus oxygen is the oxidizing agent and carbon is the reducing agent in this reaction.
