Analogous and homologous organs make it possible to know the evolutionary history of organisms. Homology concerns ancestry, and analogy concerns convergent evolution.

Homologous bodies

Homologous organs are those that may or may not perform the same function, but have the same basic structure and the same embryonic development. This means, therefore, that individuals who have these organs have shared ancestry.

As an example of homology, we can cite the members of tetrapods. Analyzing the limbs of

 • Amphibians
 • Reptiles
 • Birds
 • and Mammals,

We noticed that the number and arrangement of bones are quite similar, which shows us the kinship relationship present there. In this case, we have a similar structure, but with different functions, which reflect different lifestyles.

Analogous organs

Analogous organs, in turn, do not reflect ancestral relationships and concern only similar functions. These similarities occur due to convergent evolution, which leads to the emergence of similar characteristics even in individuals from very different groups. This is due to the fact that these characteristics favored survival in similar environments, representing, therefore, adaptations to the environment.

As an example of analogies, we can mention the wings of

 • Birds
 • and Insects.

These animals have wings that guarantee their flight, however, the structures are quite different. Therefore, the functions are similar, but they do not have the same embryonic origin, nor do they indicate ancestry.

Scientists, when analyzing living beings, have verified, with a certain frequency, structures that make us believe in some common ancestry and in the process of evolution. However, these characteristics do not always reflect the evolutionary relationships between organisms. with this, the theses of analogy and homology were developed.

(GT.03] The theory of Natural Selection was accepted after it got consensus from
romanna [79]

The theory of Natural Selection was accepted after it got consensus from

scientists.

What is natural selection?

The theory of Natural selection defines the process in which individuals who adapts to their environment survives and reproduce more offspring.

 • This theory was proposed by a scientist called Charles Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace who also had the idea of evolution.

 • This two scientist work together to publish a book on new evolutionary theory titled On the Origin of Species (1859). This is because they believed evolution occur through natural selection.

In this theory, organisms produce offspring but not all offspring survive this because they all struggle to live.

survival is based on survival of the fittest. some of those who survive can reproduce their kind while some do not grow to maturity and are loss.

Therefore, The theory of Natural Selection was accepted after it got consensus from scientists.

Which embryonic tissues did the researchers use to establish an effective cell culture?
madreJ [45]

The Human ES Cell Culture or Embryonic Stem Cells.

They capture the thoughts because they are unforgettable and have an entire limitless developmental capability. After few months of growth, these are extraordinary cells kept maintaining the ability to create another cell ranging from muscle to nerve to blood inside the body. Any cell has the potential that makes up the body.

Which sequence of processes transports water from the atmosphere to the ocean and then back into a cloud? A) precipitation >
Phantasy [73]
The answer is Letter B. evaporation > condensation > sublimation When water evaporates, its latent heat of evaporation absorbs heat.

When water vapor condenses and forms a liquid, its latent heat of condensation releases heat to the environment; this is what powers hurricanes.
