Tapan Kumar Hazarika, the second son of Ratan, a clerk in Padumani village is a student of class 5 studying at Jnanpeeth High School. He is quite good at studies. Nevertheless, at home and outside, he is always getting into troubles. He never picks a quarrel first, but if anybody offends him, he gives a corresponding response. He is the leader of his age group and is always ready to take up cudgels on thier behalf. He is popular and respected by his companions. Although thin, he is strong and kind hearted.
