Scout in To Kill A Mockingbird relates that, upon seeing Dill under the bed, Jen “rose and broke the remaining code of our childhood” which i believe is the code of no “snitching” by telling Atticus. To Scout this makes Jem a “traitor” but this was an act of responsibility that was necessary for Jem’s maturation toward adulthood. Hope this helped <3
