Review the excerpt from the story “Metamorphosis” and answer the question below: Gregor wakes up to find himself transformed. In
Scilla [17]

Answer:

In Frank Kafka’s “Metamorphosis,” Gregor wakes up to find himself transformed. At first, he feels extremely confused as to how he transformed into a bug in his dream but slowly he accepts the truth.

Explanation:

He doesn’t bemoan his condition or wonders about its cause. He doesn’t attempt to rectify it as well. On quickly accepting his present condition as a bug he tries to lead his life in the best way possible. Gregor’s body transforms into an insect but his character doesn’t change at all. Restoring his human thoughts and feelings in his newly transformed insect body is where Gregor faces a conflict. For example, he initially thinks he would go to work to earn and support his family but then he realises that he is an insect and couldn’t go out in that state.
