Given that:

Lake Superior contains 3.0 x 10^15 gallons of water

Firstly, let's know that of 1 gallon;

1 gallon = 0.00375 cubic meter

Then, 3.0 x 10 ^15 = 3.0x10^15 x 3.785 x 10 ^-3

= 3 x 3.785 x 10^15-3

= 11.355 x 10 ^12m^3

Therefore, 11.355x10^12 cubic meters of water are contained in the lake.

What is the difference between a retail market and a wholesale market
Pavel [41]

In simple terms, retail means that you, the product manufacturer or producer, sell your product directly to the consumer. Selling wholesale means you typically sell your product in bulk quantities to a “middle man” who in turn sells it to the consumer

As the Sun ages, what will happen to life here on Earth? Why?
valentina_108 [34]
Our Sun will slowly get hotter as more and more Helium accumulates in the Sun's core. In ~1 billion years, liquid water will no longer be possible on Earth's surface, and the oceans will completely boil away, resulting in a Venus-like planet. Only thermophyllic bacteria may be able to survive, perhaps at the poles. In ~4-5billion years, our Sun will have converted ~10% of its Hydrogen to Helium, and thus become so hot that Helium to Carbon fusion will begin in earnest, causing the "Helium flash" which will convert our Sun into a red giant, and swallow and vaporize all of the rocky inner planets. It may even blow off a planetary nebula. (Contrary to what the others have said, our Sun will not 'run out' of Hydrogen.)

Why are plants found in the sub littoral zone?
Butoxors [25]

There is an abundance of sunlight to foster the plants growth.

The sub-littoral zone is located close to the water's surface. Because of this, there is enough sunlight to feed plants, allowing them to grow in abundance.
