the percent increase in the price of a gallon of milk from 1985 to 2005 is 59%

Define percent increase

Percent increase can be described as the rise in the value of an item, in this case the value is milk.

Write out the parameters

In 1985 the price of a gallon of milk is $2.20

In 2005 the price is $3.50

Formula for percent increase

new price-old price/new price × 100

Calculate the percent increase

new price= $3.50

old price= $2.20

= 3.50-2.20/2.20

= 1.3/2.20

= 0.59 × 100

= 59%

Hence the percent increase from 1985 t0 2005 is 59%

Five times the sum of a number and 27 is greater than or equal to six times the sum of that num
stepladder [879]

Question:

Five times the sum of a number and 27 is greater than or equal to six times the sum of that number and 26.

What is the solution set of this problem?

Answer:

x \leq -21

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Represent the number with x

So:

5 * (x + 27) \geq 6 * (x + 26)

Required

Determine the solution set

5 * (x + 27) \geq 6 * (x + 26)

Open Both Brackets

5 * x + 5 * 27 \geq 6 *x + 6 * 26

5x + 135 \geq 6x + 156

Collect Like Terms

5x - 6x \geq 156-135

- x \geq 21

Multiply both sides by -1

x \leq -21

Hence, the solution set is x \leq -21

Find an equation of the line that has undefined slope and contains the point left parenthesis negative 1 comma 6 right parenthes
Rudiy27

When the slope isn't defined, it's not possible to write the line in slope-intercept form. No slope means a vertical line, which here must be

x= -1

The ordered pair (-1,6) obviously satisfies the above equation so is on the vertical line x=-1.
