Montgomery as there was a court against it in effect at the time. On March 21, 1965, after the court had been rescinded, 8000 protesters marched to Montgomery under the protection of Army and the troops. They were part of The Voting Rights Movement. They wanted to highlight racial <span>discrimination and get the same rights as others. There were three marches in total.</span>
