<u>Explanation:</u>

Anaconda plan was a military plan that eliminated all the Confederate help from abroad and also blocked away all the southern coasts. It was a naval blockade. The Mississippi River was the waterway for the South which was controlled and in the northern river control, Texas, Louisiana and other few confederate states were controlled.

Richmond was captured and all the confederate lines were demolished and disrupted. In need to break the spirit and center of the confederate army, South Carolina was taken over by destroying Atlanta and Savannah.
