A lot of high school English programs are not efficient when it comes to preparing students for college. For instance, my brother took easy courses during high school so when he got into college, he flunked English. My sister on the other and thought she was taking real hard courses at her high school, but when she came to a State University, she flunked as well.

Many high school English programs do not adequately prepare

students for college. My brother took undemanding

courses at his high school, like cinema, science fiction,

and the like. Well, he failed English at

college. My sister thought she was taking challenging courses

at her high school, but she also struggled at State U.

Why would someone try to put a spell on someone?
miskamm [114]
If you're talking about a spell in which the person receiving the spell is getting harmed in any way... then most likely because the person putting a spell has history (knew the person in the past) and the other person probably did something the ''witch'' didn't like. Or because they're jealous. who knows.

Which of the following is not a good method for catching the audience's attention?
spin [16.1K]

The method which is not good for catching the audience's attention is the following one:

B. making an announcement ("In this essay, I will explain. . .")

It sounds too predictable and has no appealing elements to it. It is just formal, dull and run-of-the-mill.

All other alternatives show instigating ways to start an essay, that is, strategies that will make the audience thrilled, intrigued and/or amazed.
