Answer:

  • 112°

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Given parallelogram JKLM with:</u>

  • m∠KLO = 53°
  • m∠MLO = 59°

<u>Find:</u>

  • m∠KJM

<u>We know opposite angles of parallelogram are congruent:</u>

  • m∠KJM = m∠KLM

<u>Use angle addition postulate:</u>

  • m∠KLM = m∠KLO + m∠MLO
  • m∠KLM = 53° + 59°
  • m∠KLM = 112°

What is the value of x which proves that the runways are parallel? What is the measure of the larger angle?
makkiz [27]

Answer:

118°

Step-by-step explanation:

When two parallel lines are cut by a tranversal, then the exterior angles are supplimentary and the corresponding angles are congruent.

Therefore the angle above (15x - 17)° is also (5x + 17)° and the angle below (5x + 17)° is also (15x - 17)°.

Angles on a straight line adds up to 180°. So to know the measure of the larger angle we must both equations and equal it to 180° to find x in order to know the larger angle.

(5x + 17) + (15x - 17) = 180

5x + 15x + 17 - 17 = 180

20x = 180

20x/20 = 180/20

x = 9°

Nkw let's substitute x = 9 into the equations

5x + 17 =

5(9) + 17 =

= 62°

15x - 17 =

15(9) - 17 =

= 118°

Both equations should add up to be 180°.

Therefore the measure of the largest angle is 118°.

<span>13 more than 4 times a number is negative 91

</span>Convert to numbers:

13 more than 4: 4+13

times a number: (x)

is negative 91: = -91

Put it together:

4x+13=-91

                   x = -26

If sin(theta) =4/5 and is in quadrant 2, the value of cot(theta
iren [92.7K]
\sin\theta= \frac{4}{5} &#10;\\&#10;\\\sin^2\theta+\cos^2\theta=1&#10;\\ \cos\theta=\pm \sqrt{1-\sin^2\theta} =\pm \sqrt{1-( \frac{4}{5})^2 } =\pm \sqrt{1- \frac{16}{25} } =\pm \sqrt{\frac{9}{25} }=\pm \frac{3}{5}}

\theta \in II \Rightarrow \cos\theta\ \textless \ 0 \Rightarrow \cos\theta=-\frac{3}{5}

\cot\theta= \frac{\cos\theta}{\sin\theta}= \frac{-\frac{3}{5}}{\frac{4}{5}}  =- \frac{3}{4}
