Why were writers from the 1920s referred to as "The Lost Generation"?

The writers of 1920s were known as the lost generation due to them being the post WW1 generation. Cultural, moral and spiritual values were lost as well as hatred towards others. In addition, writers from that era tender to focus on self rather than the world as around them.

She compared gender roles in different societies, concentrating heavily on the regions of South Pacific and Southeast Asia.

She was a proponent of broadening sexual conventions and her thinking influenced the sexual revolution in the 1960's.
