Peace would not be possible, before there were even battles in the first place, Britain would not back down. If you were to go to before the battles were Britain lost or lost a large amount of troops, they would be winning from their eyes. The British would not be easily discouraged, the war lasted seven years, if they got to the point of nearly winning, it would not be logical to give in and show weakness to other empires like France or Spain.
