I would say that poetry is unique because it deals with truths about the world in a very succinct way ie condensed to capture the meaning of the world of nature and society with a few well chosen words which may or may not rhyme and it also conjures up images quite often and uses metaphors a lot.
The sand was lava, burning and flowing
Themselves they beheld me
When I came from the contest, when covered with gore
Foes I escaped from, where five I had bound,
The giant-race wasted, in the waters destroying
The above passage was spoken by Beowulf when he presented himself to King Hrothgar.
The main idea of this poem is that the world is going to end, it could be because of ice or fire.
The purpose of this poem, is to make you think. I personal think that this poem was make to make you think how the world would end.
Sorry if I get any of them wrong,
I would actually go with the last option based on my search, and also the first option. I feel like they would both best exemplify Descartes' break with Aristotelian thought.
