Find the volume of the figure
Mademuasel [1]
Well the formula for the volume of a rectangular prism is v=whl or volume= width times height timed length, so let's apply what we know to that. Volume=5*4*4 basically is the math equation we are solving, however because the width and length make up the base we must do the length and width first because another version of the formula is B*h which is area of base *height and width *length equals the area of the base so 4*4= 16, 16*5=80 your answer is the third one 80km^3

A ship is 2.2° off course. If the ship is traveling at 18.0 miles per hour, how far off course will it be after 5 hours?
jok3333 [9.3K]
___x____
\             |
  \           |
     \        |   y
 18  \      |
         \    |
           \ *|---2.2 °

This is a vector problem. The distance of drift is in x (horizontal axis).
remember that Sin Ф=opposite/hypotenuse. x represents the opposite side form the angle, and 18 is the hypotenuse.
Sin 2.2°=x/18
18 sin 2.2°=x
.691 ≈x

The ship drifts off course .691 miles every hour. .691 x 5 = 5.69 miles after 5 hours.

A, B, and C are collinear points. B is between A and C. AB = 5x + 8 BC = 6x - 1 AC = 12x - 11 Find AC.
Vlada [557]

Answer:

AC = 198

Step-by-step explanation:

Since all these points are collinear, we know that the addition of AB plus BC should give the same as AC. We can then set an equation that addresses this identity:

AB + BC = AC

5x +8 +6x - 1 = 12x - 11

Now re-arranging like terms in order to combine them:

8 - 1 + 11 = 12x - 5x - 6x

19 - 1  = 12x - 11x

18 = x

Now that we know the value of 'x", we can determine the value of AC:

AC = 12x - 11

AC = 12 (18) - 11

AC = 216 - 18

AC = 198
