katovenus [111]

Ray observes a study-abroad student throw her books down on the desk, and thinks of her as a very rude person. He engages in "attribution" as he attempts to find a reason for why she behaved this way.

<h3>What is attribution?</h3>

Assigning causes to events or behaviours is the process of assigning blame in social psychology. We all engage in attribution in daily life, often without being aware of the underlying assumptions and biases that influence our conclusions.

There are basically two types of attributions:

  • internal and external: Internal attributions are when an event or conduct is attributed to personal characteristics, such as a person's skills. The idea that situational elements, such a person's actual surroundings, are what caused an occurrence or conduct is known as an external attribution.
  • personal and situational: The act of putting external circumstances or events—rather than one's own internal qualities—instead of those person's own characteristics as the source of conduct. We frequently attribute external factors, such as situational or environmental factors, to try to explain our own conduct.

Some examples of attribution are-

  • Let's say a student fails an exam, and her parents assume that either her teacher was awful or the problems were more challenging than normal. These attributions are situational.
  • On a highway, Maria's automobile breaks down. If she attributes the breakdown to her lack of knowledge of automobiles, she is internalising the error.

Which slider do you start with when using a triple beam balance?
SCORPION-xisa [38]

Answer:

<em>When using the triple beam balance, it is recommended that one start with the lowest level of precision (e.g 100 gram increments). For example, if an object weighs 327 grams, the 100 gram pointer will drop below the fixed mark on the 4th notch (400g); it will then need to be moved back to the third notch (300g).</em>

Virty [35]

In the first paragraph of “A Model of Christian Charity”, Winthrop lists four things for consideration: that God Almighty has created the rich, poor, powerful, and submissives to the powerful.

He may have chosen this list order for his Puritan audience to show juxtaposition between the categories of people mentioned, leading into his explanation of God’s divine wisdom of creating and giving a variety of societal roles with the purpose of creating unity.
