The objective of the American crisis of 1776 was the fight for freedom and the reconstruction of the country. The American Crisis documents written by Paine helped in the greater adherence to the war.

Politician Thomas Paine wrote books and distributed revolutionary pamphlets that were able to influence the American population and the continental army to create a common sense of support for the cause.

He instituted deistic beliefs that portrayed conflict in an emotional way, as if the settlers were good, fighting evil.

Therefore, the cause of the American crisis was the colonial dissatisfaction with the increased exploration of the thirteen colonies, in search of greater rights, freedom and the transformation of the United States into an independent, republican and federalist nation.
