Answer: 11/20

The total number of discs are 6+5+9 is 20... and the number of discs that are not red is 20-9 which is 11. So,

Answer:  11/20

explanation:

We know that, Alison has 6 yellow discs, 5 blue discs and 9 red discs

so total he has 6 + 5 + 9 = 20 discs in total

to find the probability of the disc is not red

we have to use the formula :     total disc - red disc / total discs

                                                  20 - 9 / 20

                                               11/20 is the probability of not getting a red disc

OR,

  • we can find the probability of getting a red disc :

         =   red disc / total discs

         =    9/20

  • now disc is not red = 1 - 9/20

       =     11/20

A researcher at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is studying the growth of a certain bacteria. He starts his exper
steposvetlana [31]

The population of the bacteria after 8 hours is 1639 bacteria.

An exponential function is given by:

y = abˣ

where y, x are variables, a is the initial value of y and b is the multiplier.

Let y represent the population of bacteria after x hours.

Given that he starts his experiment with 500 bacteria, hence

a = 500

The bacteria grow at a rate of 16% per hour, hence:

b = 100% + 16% = 1.16

The exponential equation becomes:

y = 500(1.16)ˣ

After 8 hours:

y = 500(1.16)⁸ = 1639

The population of the bacteria after 8 hours is 1639 bacteria.

According to the Fundamental Theorem of Algebra, which polynomial function has exactly 6 roots?
Paul [167]

Answer: d.f(x)=7x^6+3x^3+12

Explanation:-

  • The fundamental theorem of algebra tells that every non-constant single-variable polynomial with complex coefficients has at least one complex root.
  • Corollary to the fundamental theorem tells that every polynomial of m>0 degree has exactly m zeroes.

Thus only option d.f(x)=7x^6+3x^3+12 with degree 6 has exactly 6 roots.
