Step-by-step explanation:

If you want to find the square root of a number easily, try guessing for the square roots of a number close to the number you are looking for. (This may sound confusing but I will explain don't worry)

EX: 144

Lets say that your teacher asked you to find the square root, and you don't know, so you're totally freaking out. Don't worry. Follow these steps and this will never happen.

Ok, so we know that 11 x 11 is 121, and 13 x 13 is 169. This means that since 144 is between these two numbers, the square root of 144 must also be between 11 and 13. And what do you know, its 12!

Ok, lets say we have a bigger number, such as 576.

I know, I know, this may seem like a very big number and it'll take you forever. Don't worry! We can use estimation to help us!

Ok, we know that 20 x 20 is 400, but that's to low, so we can move up a bit. 23 x 23 is 529, which is pretty close to 576, so that can be set as our minimum. 25 x 25 is 625, which is bigger than 576, so we can set that as our maximum

If we think about the problem, then we see that "Hmm, what about the number between 23 and 25? That's right! You just solved it. The square root of 576 is 24.

Hope this guide helps you :)

Answer: (-infinity, 7]

=====================================

Explanation:

The first interval (-infinity, 3) describes any number less than 3, so we can write x < 3 in short hand (where x is the unknown number).

The second interval (-1, 7] means we start at -1 and stop at 7. We do not include -1 but include 7. So we say that -1 < x \le 7 (ie x is between -1 and 7; exclude -1, include 7)

If you were to graph each ona number line, you would see that the too intervals have overlapping parts. The right most edge extends out as far as x = 7. There is no left most edge as it goes onforever that direction.

Therefore, the to intervals combine to get x \le 7 which turns into the interval notation answer of (-infinity, 7]

-----------

It might help to think of it like this: x < 3 and -1 < x \le 7 say "x is some number that is less than 3, or it is between -1 and 7". So x could be anything less than 7, including 7 itself.

Michael is a basketball player who regularly shoots sets of 2 free-throws. Suppose that each shot has probability 0.60. , point,
Sati [7]

Answer:

0.1306

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a binomial distribution problem

Binomial distribution function is represented by

P(X = x) = ⁿCₓ pˣ qⁿ⁻ˣ

n = total number of sample spaces = number of free throws

x = Number of successes required = 6

p = probability of success = 0.60

q = probability of failure = 1 - 0.60 = 0.40

P(X = 6) = ⁷C₆ (0.6)⁶ (0.4)⁷⁻⁶ = 0.1306368 = 0.1306

Hope this Helps!!!
