The social hierarchy is an unavoidable reality in Britain, and it is interesting to watch it play out in the work of a socialist playwright. Shaw includes members of all social classes from the lowest (Liza) to the servant class (Mrs. Pearce<span>) to the middle class (Doolittle after his inheritance) to the genteel poor (the Eynsford Hills) to the upper class (Pickering and the Higginses). The general sense is that class structures are rigid and should not be tampered with, so the example of Liza's class mobility is most shocking. The issue of language is tied up in class quite closely; the fact that Higgins is able to identify where people were born by their accents is telling. British class and identity are very much tied up in their land and their birthplace, so it becomes hard to be socially mobile if your accent marks you as coming from a certain location.

Many writers make the mistake of disunity in tense. What does this mean?
ivanzaharov [21]

Answer:

This means that the tenses do not agree, more like Concord.

Explanation:

Concord in grammar means subject-verb agreement. That is, if a verb is in the singular form, then the subject must be in the singular; and if it is in the plural, then the subject must be in the plural.

When a writer makes a mistake of disunity in tenses, it means that the sentence does not follow the subject-verb rule.

For example,

The group of dancers is here is wrong because the dancers are in plural, but the singular verb is is used.

Correcting the sentence,

The group of dancers are here.

Read the sentence. Check the type of ungrammatical-sounding English that it illustrates.
vfiekz [6]
It is a second language kind of mistake. It is very common to follow the patterns of mother tongue language which are not always acuurate in another language. On the other hand, we tend to translate word by word but we need to know that languag- word order is not the same for all languages.
