The social hierarchy is an unavoidable reality in Britain, and it is interesting to watch it play out in the work of a socialist playwright. Shaw includes members of all social classes from the lowest (Liza) to the servant class (Mrs. Pearce) to the middle class (Doolittle after his inheritance) to the genteel poor (the Eynsford Hills) to the upper class (Pickering and the Higginses). The general sense is that class structures are rigid and should not be tampered with, so the example of Liza's class mobility is most shocking. The issue of language is tied up in class quite closely; the fact that Higgins is able to identify where people were born by their accents is telling. British class and identity are very much tied up in their land and their birthplace, so it becomes hard to be socially mobile if your accent marks you as coming from a certain location.

Colons are not used to introduce __________. lists omissions appostives long quotations
Alecsey [184]
Colons are not used to introduce lists.

Colons denote "that is to say" or "here's what I mean."

They make sentences’ first parts not important rather the sentence’s second part contains the important information.

Here are some of the rules you could use for colons:

*Colons are uses upon introducing items.
*Do not use capital letters after a colon except if it’s a proper noun.
*Do not use colons after a verb or preposition.
*For independent clauses, especially when the second sentence explains the paragraph’s meaning, the use of colon is preferred.
*After a colon: capitalize the first letter of the first word if it is a complete quotation.

After a procedure has been completed, what questions can be asked to help evaluate the results? Check all that apply.
gizmo_the_mogwai [7]

After a procedur has been completed, some questions can be asked to help evaluate the results. Here are these questions:

1. Were the steps completed in order?

 • This is important to ask because it may be necessary to change the order the next time the procedure is done.

2. What could be done differently in the future?

 • This is important to ask because it can find problems with the procedure that was done to improve for the next one.

3. Was the expected outcome reached?

 • If the expected outcome wasn't reached maybe the procedure shouldn't be repeated. Unless of course the surprise outcome was something good.
