The standard golf ball has a mass of 45g.How many golf balls are there in a bag weighing 1.8 kg?
mars1129 [50]
Bag weight 1.8 kg
Golf ball weight: 45g

1 kg = 1000g
Total bag weight in grams = 1.8 x 1000 = 1800g
total bag weight / golf ball weight = total balls in bag
1800 / 45 = 40
Total balls in bag = 40.

Exponent Laws - difference between product law and product raised to a power (with formula please)
enyata [817]

Answer:

Exponent laws:

1. Product law

x^{a}\times x^{b}\times x^{c}=x^{a+b+c}

In product law if bases are same then we add their respective powers.But if bases are different we can't add their powers.

x=base, a,b,c=exponent

If x=2 and a=3, b=5 , and c=10, then

2^{3}\times2^{5}\times2^{10}=2^{3+5+10}=2^{18}

2.Product raised to a power

1. [x^{a}]^{c}=x^{ac}

2. [x^{a}\times x^{b}]^{c}=[x^{a+b}]^{c}=x^{ac+bc}

If product is raised to a certain power , keeping the base same , we just multiply the powers.for example

[2^{3}]^{4}=2^{3\times4}=2^{12} and

[2^{3}\times3^{2}]^{2}=[2^{3}]^2 \times[3^{2}]^{2}=2^{6}\times3^{4}

[2^{3}\times2^{2}]^{2}=[2^{3+2}]^{2}=[2^{5}]^{2}=2^{10}

A sandwich shop is ordering apples and grapes to make chicken salad.Apples cost $2.19 per pound and grapes cost $2.60 per pound.
andrew11 [14]

Answer:

Grapes=19.51

Step-by-step explanation:

Apples=$2.19 per pound

Grapes=$2.60 per pound

Apples+Grapes=20 pounds

A+G=20

A=20-G

Equation is

PaA+PgG=35.80

2.19A+2.60G=35.80

2.19(20-G)+2.60G=35.80

43.8-2.19G+2.60G=35.80

43.8-0.41G=35.80

-0.41G=35.80-43.8

-0.41G=-8

Divide both sides by 0.41

G=19.51 pounds

Recall

A=20-G

A=20-19.51

A=0.49 pounds
