This territories are large and contains many diverse groups.

For an empire to stand it requires a lot of inputs and resources and for it to fail or collapse a number of factors will also contributes to it.

Finance is an important internal force that builds an empire problems start to arise when major financial needs cannot be met and this can lead to the collapse of an empire.

Environment is an external factor that makes an empire successful, in the case of natural disasters such as storm, flood, earth tremor an empire can collapse and not rise again.

Therefore, both inside and outside forces can bring an empire down.
