In order to find the slope of the line, we can pick two points on the line and plug them into the slope equation (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
two points could be (-3,-3) and (0,-1)
slope = (-1 - -3)/(-3-0) = 2/3
an equation for the line can be written using the slope and the y intercept (y value when x=0)
y = (2/3)x - 1
to find the a and b values look at the graph along the x and y axis. you can also count 2 points up and 3 points left from (0,-1) until you reach that point since it has the same slope. a=3, b=1
the y coordinate when x=0 is -1 because that is the y intercept

Your bag of rice says to mix 1 cup of rice with 2 cups of water. dela requ prov a. What is the ratio of rice to water? refer to
EastWind [94]

Answer:

(a) 1:2

(b) 6 cups

(c) \dfrac{2}{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

(a) Given,

amount of rice mixture contains= 1 cup

amount of water mixture contains= 2 cups

\textrm{So, the ratio of rice to water}\ =\ \dfrac{\textrm{amount of rice in mixturte}}{\textrm{amount of water in mixture}}

                                                              =\ \dfrac{1}{2}

So, the ratio of rice to water is 1:2.

(b) Amount of rice in mixture = 3 cups

\textrm{So, the ratio of rice to water}\ =\ \dfrac{\textrm{amount of rice in mixturte}}{\textrm{amount of water in mixture}}

                      =>\ \dfrac{1}{2}\ =\ \dfrac{3}{\textrm{amount of water in mixture}}

                       => amount of water in mixture = 3 x 2

                                                                          = 6 cups

(c) \textrm{amount of rice in mixture}\ =\dfrac{1}{3}

 \textrm{So, the ratio of rice to water}\ =\ \dfrac{\textrm{amount of rice in mixturte}}{\textrm{amount of water in mixture}}

   =>\ \dfrac{1}{2}\ =\ \dfrac{\dfrac{1}{3}}{\textrm{amount of water in mixture}}

  =>\textrm{amount of water in mixture}\ =\ \dfrac{2}{3}

So, the amount of water in the mixture will be \dfrac{2}{3} cup.

Perform the indicated operation 5 1/6 - 2 2/3
goldenfox [79]

Answer:

2½

Step-by-step explanation:

First find the Least Common Denominator [LCD], which is 6, then convert 5⅙:

5⅙ → 4 7⁄6

5 \frac{1}{6}  - 2 \frac{2}{3}  = 4 \frac{7}{6}  -  2 \frac{4}{6}  = 2 \frac{3}{6}  = 2 \frac{1}{2}

You see, we regrouped 1 from 5⅙ to make sure that the top mixed number had a higher value than the bottom mixed number, so it is much easier to work with.

I am joyous to assist you anytime.

Find the surface area of this rectangular prism.
Alexeev081 [22]

Answer:

Surface area of the rectangular prism= 168 yards^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given Dimensions of the rectangular prism are:

Length(L)= 9 yards\\\\Width(w)=2 yards \\\\Height(H)= 6 yards

Surface Area of a rectangular prism=

                                          2(L*W+W*H+H*L)\\\\                                                           =2(9*2+2*6+6*9)\\\\                                                            =2(18+12+54)\\\\                                                             = 2(84)\\\\

                                    =168 yards^2

The surface area of the rectangular prism is 168 yards^2
