The potential concerns involving a stopped vehicle which the officer may consider when approaching the  vehicle are:

  • Is the driver  armed?
  • Is the car well lit?
  • How many occupants are in the car?
  • Is the driver and/or other passengers hostile?

When a police officer on patrol duty stops a car for any number of reasons such as overspeeding, marked license plates, etc, then the driver of the vehicle needs to fully comply.

With this in mind, there are some concerns which the officer might have as he approaches the vehicle and he would like the driver to identify himself, assert that he is not a threat and then question him.

Read this scenario applying to the Bill of Rights.
choli [55]

Answer:

Protection against unwanted search and seizure

Explanation:

Freedom of religion wasn't violated because the FBI aren't trying to prevent him from practicing his religion.

Freedom of assembly is wrong because the FBI isn't preventing them from getting each other.

Protection against unlawful accusations is also incorrect because their is no unlawful accusation in intercepting suspicious messages.

This obviously leaves protection against unwarranted searches and seizures because the FBI took Tristians phone without gaining a warrant from a judge that would legally allow them to take it.

tigry1 [53]

Answer:

One who engages in categorical moral thinking is likely to approach the trolley car case by focusing on:

e) Whether diverting the trolley car would violate people's rights.

Explanation:

Immanuel Kant (1724 - 1804) proposed that a person should always respect the humanity in others and that the person should only act in accordance with rules that could hold for everyone.  For example, he claimed that people have a duty to do the right thing even if that action produces a bad result.  Thus, telling a lie in order to save a friend from jail is considered to be morally reprehensible by Kantism.  For Kant, therefore, a person is doing something good if they are taking a morally right action.
