A geological fault is the type of fault which is caused by a crack in the surface of the Earth's crust and has to do with tectonic plates which shift and change positions.

As a result of this, we can see that these geological faults has to do with shifts of the tectonic plates which have the ability to cause earthquakes which can cause destruction of the earth.

With this in mind, there are different kinds of faults and they include:

 • Normal Fault
 • Reverse Fault
 • Divergent Fault
 • Strike-slip Fault, etc

Please note that your question is incomplete so I gave you a general overview to help you better understand the concept.

What is the length of line segment AD?

8 units
14 units
22 units
36 units
Blababa [14]

Answer: AD is 22 units

Explanation:

The figure is missing: find it in attachment.

In the figure we have a kite, which is a quadrilater consisting of two pairs of consecutive sides of equal length.

In the kite in the figure, the sides which are equal are:

AB = BC

and

CD = AD

We know that AB = 14, so

BC = AB = 14

Also we know that CD = 22, so

AD = CD = 22 units

A group of scientists in Alaska notices that not only have atmospheric CO₂ levels increased at their sampling site but so too ha
oee [108]

Answer: The release of methane from thawed permafrost

Explanation:

With increasing global warming, permafrost in the arctic is melting. The carbon and methyl clathrates present in permafrost escape into the atmosphere to form carbon dioxide and methane, both greenhouse gases.

In the Arctic, molecules of methane are trapped in ice crystals as methyl clathrates. When the temperature increases, these crystals release methyl clathrates which become methane when in contact with the atmosphere.

The cause of the increasing atmospheric CO{2} is due to the the thawing of dead organisms present in the permafrost. As the permafrost melts, these organisms decay and release CO{2} into the atmosphere.
