The Dust killed many livestock and other animals that got in its way. The people living in the Dust Bowl areas were starting to escape the dust and go to California to start a new life. The citizens of California had diffrent viewpoints towards the survivors. Some viewed them as intruders competing for land and wealth in California while other viewed them as refugees escaping a natural disaster that they had no control over. The survivors just wanted to live in peace and make a living in california.
