A 98% confidence interval is found to be (32,46). What is the margin of error ?

Using confidence interval concepts, it is found that the margin of error is of 7.

  • A confidence interval has the format (a,b).
  • The margin of error is half the difference between the two bounds, that is:

M = \frac{b - a}{2}

In this problem, the interval is (32, 46), hence b = 46, a = 32, and the margin of error is:

M = \frac{46 - 32}{2} = 7

The margin of error is of 7.

We are given the equation: g(s,t) = t^2 e^s

Which is subject to the constraint: s^2 + t^2=3

The points (x,y) that will maximize g(s,t) will be the points that will satisfy the equation ∇f(x, y, z) = λ∇g(x, y, z), therefore:

2 t e^s = λ (2 t), so  e^s = λ           --> 1

t^2 e^s = λ (2 s)                                                --> 2

s^2 + t^2 = 3                                       -->3

To solve this problem, note that λ cannot be zero by equation 1 since e^s can never be zero. Therefore plug in equation 1 to 2:

t^2 e^s = (e^s) (2 s)

t^2 = 2 s                                               --> 4

Plug in equation 4 to 3:

s^2 + 2s = 3

By completing the square:

s^2 + 2s + 1 = 4

(s + 1)^2 = 4

s + 1 = ±2

s = -3, 1

Calculating for t using equation 4:

when s = -3

t^2 = 2(-3)

t = sqrt(-6)

Since t is imaginary, therefore s=-3 is not a solution

when s = 1

t^2 = 2(1)

t = sqrt(2) = ±1.414

Therefore the maxima and minima points are at:

(1, -1.414) and (1, 1.414)

g(1, -1.414)=(-1.414)^2 e^(1) = 5.434

g(1, -1.414)=( 1.414)^2 e^(1) = 5.434

May someone help me?

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation: To find the slope we can use the equation (y2-y1/x2-x1). So we can use the points (2,7) and (3,9). The equation would look like (9-7/3-2). This solves to 2/1. This equation can be solved either way just make sure that you put the values in order like the reverse of this equation would be (7-9/2-3 which equals 2/1. Now that we have the slope we can use this to find the y-intercept. The formula is y=x + ?. For this instance we will use (2,7) for this so the equation will be 7= 2/1 * 2 + x. This solved equals 4 + 3= 7. With this we now know that y is equal to 3. So your slope formula will be 2/1x + 3 now with this we can solve for y when x = 8. 2/1(8) + 3 = 19. I hope this helps

Which fraction has the greatest value? A number line going from negative 1 to positive 1 in increments of 1. StartFraction 5 Ove
frosja888 [35]

Fractions are numbers that are represented by the quotients of two integers

The fraction with the greatest value is 5/6

How to determine the greatest fraction

The fractions are given as:

1/6, 5/6, -1/6 and -5/6

Negative numbers are less than positive numbers.

So, the remaining fractions are:

1/6 and 5/6

Both fractions have the same denominator.

So, we consider the numerator

5 is greater than 1

Hence, the fraction with the greatest value is 5/6
