If h(x)= -kx + 14 and h(2)=18, find the value of k
trasher [3.6K]

h(x)= -kx + 14

18 = -k*2 + 14   since x=2

18 = -2k +14

subtract 14 from each side

4 = -2k

divide by -2

-2 =k

What is the value of the expression |-7| + |-4|
weqwewe [10]
Hey there,

Your question states: <span>What is the value of the expression |-7| + |-4|

Sense they both are absolute values, they are pretended to be as normal numbers. By simplifying this, your correct answer would be 11.

Hope this helps.

The area of the region in the first quadrant between the graph of y = k*sin(x) and x-axis (where k &gt; 0 ) on the closed interv
astraxan [27]
Note that 0\le k\sin x\le k in the given closed interval, so the area is exactly given by the definite integral

\displaystyle\int_0^\pi k\sin x\,\mathrm dx

(no absolute values needed!)

Integrating gives

-k\cos x\bigg|_{x=0}^{x=\pi}=-k(\cos\pi-\cos0)=-k(-1-1)=2k
