The area of a rectangular carpet is 252 square feet. The length is nine feet more than the width. Find the length and the width
Whitepunk [10]

Answer:

<h3>Length = 30 feet </h3><h3>Width = 21 feet </h3>

<em><u>Given </u></em><em><u>-</u></em><em><u> </u></em>Length is nine feet more

Area is 252

<u>To </u><u>find </u><u>-</u><u> </u><u> </u>Value of length and width

<em><u>Solution</u></em><em><u>-</u></em><em><u> </u></em>

let the width of the carpet be X

therefore length = 9 + X

Area of carpet = Length * width

252 = (9+x) * X

252 = 9x + x²

<em><u>Solving </u></em><em><u>the </u></em><em><u>equation </u></em><em><u>by </u></em><em><u>splitting </u></em><em><u>middle </u></em><em><u>term </u></em>

x² + 9x - 252 = 0

x²- 21x + 12x - 252= 0

x ( x - 21) + 12( x - 21) = 0

(x -21)( x + 12) = 0

X = 21 or X = (-12)

Length = 9 + X

= 30 or (-3)

negative is not possible so

length = 30

width = 21

3kg of apples and 8kg of grapes costs €7.60 in total 5kg of apples and 3kg of grapes costs €7.50in total work out the costs of a
ki77a [65]

Answer:

1kg of apple : €0.50

1kgof grapes : €1.20

Step-by-step explanation:

15kg of apples and 40kg of grapes costs €38

15kg of apples and 9kg of grapes costs €22.50

38 - 22.50 = 15.5

40 - 9 = 31

15.5 ÷ 31 = 0.5 ( 1kg of grapes )

0.5 × 3 = 1.5

7.5 - 1.5 = 6

6 ÷ 5 = 1.2 ( 1kg of apples )

Triangle ABC has vertices at A(1,2) B(4,6) and C(4,6) in the coordinate plane. The triangle will be reflected over the x-axis an
k0ka [10]
You should know that you can predict changes in coordinates after translations without a graph or anything like that.

(x, y) reflected over the x axis = (x, -y)
(x, y) reflected over the y axis = (-x, y)
(x, y) rotated 90 degrees around the origin = (y, -x)
(x, y) rotated 180 degrees around the origin = (-x, -y)
(x, y) rotated 270 degrees around the origin - (-x, y)

So here's our set of points.
A(1, 2), B(4, 6), C(4, 6)

Here's those points reflected over the x axis.
A'(1, -2), B'(4, -6), C'(4, -6)

And here's <em>those</em> points rotated 180° around the origin.
A''(2, -1), B''(6, -4), C''(6, -4)

I think you made a mistake writing down the question, though, because B and C are the same yet you say ABC forms a triangle. You should be able to go through this process with whatever the coordinate was supposed to be.
