Answer:

The center-radius form of the circle equation is in the format (x – h)2 + (y – k)2 = r2, with the center being at the point (h, k) and the radius being "r". This form of the equation is helpful, since you can easily find the center and the radius.

Step-by-step explanation:

hope this helps you :)

Ramon has applied to MBA programs at both Harvard and Stanford. He thinks the probability that Harvard will admit him is 0.5, th
ivolga24 [154]

Answer:

(a) The Venn diagram is attached below.

(b) The probability that neither university admits Ramon is 0.20.

(c) The probability that Ramon gets into Stanford but not Harvard 0.30.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's denote the events as follows:

<em>H</em> = Ramon gets admitted to Harvard

<em>S</em> = Ramon gets admitted to Stanford.

The information provided is:

P (H) = 0.50

P (S) = 0.50

P (H ∩ S) = 0.20

(a)

The Venn diagram is attached below.

(b)

Compute the probability that Ramon gets admitted in neither Harvard nor Stanford as follows:

P(H^{c}\cup S^{c})=1-P(H\cup S) \\= 1 - [P(H)+P(S)-P(H\cap S)]\\=1-[0.50+0.50-0.20]\\=1-0.80\\=0.20

Thus, the probability that neither university admits Ramon is 0.20.

(c)

Compute the probability that Ramon gets admitted in Stanford but not in Harvard as follows:

P(H^{c}\cup S)=P(S)-P(H\cap S) \\= 0.50-0.20\\=0.30

Thus, the probability that Ramon gets into Stanford but not Harvard 0.30.

May someone help me get the right answer please
AleksandrR [38]
The answer is 24.5 by rounding off nearest tenth it becomes 25
PROCEDURE:
1: put all the numbers in numerical order i.e.22,23,24,24,25,26,28,29;
2:now the total amount of values is even, so the median will be the mean of two central values i.e.
(24+25)/2=24.5
now by rounding it off to nearest tenth it becomes 25

Write a linear equation in standard form that crosses (4,-3) and (-2,9)
Goryan [66]
Y = -2x + 5
That's the answer and you find it by finding the slope by using (4,-3) and (-2,9). You subtract -3 from 9 over 4 from -2. After you find the slope which would be -2 you use the equation y-y1 = slope(x - x1). You plug in any coordinates and find the answer.

Last question! Any explanation is appreciated, sorry for bad quality
Lesechka [4]

Answer:

1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

When you have two points you need to use the slope formula:

m=\frac{y_{2}-y_{1} }{x_{2}-x_1}

x1 and y1 is the first point and x2 and y2 is the second point, remember that the first number is X and the other is Y so...

m=\frac{5-4}{3-1} \\m=\frac{1}{2}

1/2 is the slope of the points
