The purpose of this essay is to examine whether or how far Plato’s argument that philosophers should be the rulers of the Republic is valid and persuasive. In The Republic, Plato argues that kings should become philosophers or that philosophers should become kings, or philosopher kings, as they possess a special level of knowledge, which is required to rule the Republic successfully. The essay will argue that Plato’s argument for the philosopher kings’ rule is neither persuasive nor realistic in theory,

This 1896 case is considered a landmark ruling, as this allowed for the doctrine of "separate but equal" to be used in public places around the country. This case was used as a means to create segregated schools, churches, restaurants, etc.

This statement, written by Justice Brown, refers to the fact that nowhere in the constitution does it explicitly discuss this idea of separating races. Says it is not discussed, the court argues that this idea is not unreasonable. The Plessy vs. Ferguson ruling will change American society for the next 70 years.
